Primordials

Nature
Born of congruence and the earthen elements
Form
No single shape. Reported as ice, volcanic stone, or near-human with elemental features
Prevalence
Rare, and rarely described the same way twice

Primordials are creatures born of congruence and the earthen elements. Almost nothing about them is agreed, starting with what they look like: ask across the continent and you will hear of a bird apparently made of ice, an amorphous mass resembling volcanic stone, and beings that pass for human but for their elemental features.

The variation appears to be real rather than a failure of description. What the accounts share is the origin — congruence and element together — and the difficulty of arranging to meet one.
